Abteilung 502 ABTP249 Pigment Fixer is a liquid fixing medium designed to give weathering pigments a more permanent bond to model surfaces. It is particularly useful when working with loose pigment powders for effects such as dust, dirt, mud, rust, and accumulated grime on vehicles, figures, Gunpla, and diorama groundwork. The fixer dries transparent and is designed not to significantly darken the pigments as they are secured.

The fixer can be applied with a brush either before or after placing the pigments, depending on the desired effect and application technique. Applying the liquid first allows pigments to be worked into the treated area, while applying it after the pigments helps secure an existing layer. This makes ABTP249 useful for both subtle weathering and heavier pigment-based effects where durability is important. The product is supplied in a 75 ml bottle.
