FG Gundam RX-78-2

Celebrate the origins of GunPla with the FG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam from Bandai Spirits. Released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam, the First Grade (FG) series was created as an affordable introduction to plastic model building while faithfully recreating the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam from the original 1979 anime.

Despite its simple construction, this classic 1/144 scale kit features an impressive range of articulation for its era, with movable joints in the head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles-all achieved without the use of polycaps. The completed model includes the RX-78-2 Gundam's signature armaments, making it an excellent choice for collectors interested in the history of GunPla or builders looking to experience one of Bandai Spirits' earliest modern entry-level kits. Originally released in 1999, the FG RX-78-2 Gundam remains a nostalgic favorite and an important milestone in the evolution of the hobby.
