Line Tracing Snail 2 Mechanical

The Tamiya Line Tracing Snail II is a fun and educational robotics kit that introduces the fundamentals of line-following technology through hands-on assembly. Designed for builders of all ages, this updated version of the classic Line Tracing Snail features the new TCU-01 control unit, making sensor adjustment easier while improving reliability. Once assembled, the snail automatically follows a black line drawn on white paper, providing an engaging introduction to electronics, mechanics, and robotics.

Powered by two Type 130 motors, the snail uses an optical sensor to detect and follow guide lines approximately 3 mm wide, navigating curves with a minimum radius of 8 cm. Builders can choose between high- and low-speed operation, while the transparent shell allows the internal mechanisms to remain visible during operation.
