The Mr. Hobby GM01 Black Panel Line Pen is an extra-fine ink marker designed specifically for adding definition to recessed panel lines and fine surface details on Gunpla and other plastic model kits. Its narrow tip allows builders to trace engraved lines accurately, making it an easy way to enhance the mechanical appearance and three-dimensional detail of a model without requiring liquid panel liner or additional painting equipment.

The black ink provides a strong, defined contrast and is particularly suited to white, blue, gray, and other lighter or darker plastic parts where a pronounced panel-line effect is desired. On unpainted plastic, excess ink can be removed with a rubber eraser, making cleanup straightforward. Mr. Hobby cautions that the marker can affect painted surfaces, including Mr. Color, Gundam Color, Aqueous Hobby Color, and Gundam Marker paint, so it is primarily intended for application directly onto molded plastic.
